For anyone who works at a screen

7 Reasons Every Neck Support You've Tried Ended Up in a Drawer

And none of them were your fault.

It's 3pm. Your chin has crept toward the screen again, and there it is: the dull ache at the base of your skull.

You roll your shoulders. You stretch. Twenty minutes later, it's back.

So at some point, you bought something. A foam collar. A posture strap from TikTok. The inflatable one you pumped up like a bike tyre.

And now it lives in a drawer.

That isn't a willpower problem. Most neck supports fail one simple test long before they get the chance to help.

The only test that matters

Would you actually wear it?

Here are the 7 ways they fail it. If three or more sound like you, the end of this page was written for you.

01/ 07

It held up your shoulders, not your head.

The further your head tips forward, the heavier it feels to your neck. Modelled estimate (Hansraj, 2014).

Posture straps pull your shoulders back. For about ten minutes, it feels like progress.

But your shoulders aren't what's tired. Your neck is, from holding up your head all day.

A strap never touches your head. So your chin still drifts toward the screen, and your neck still carries all of it.

How NAPE fixes it

NAPE holds your head, not your shoulders. Your chin rests, so your neck can let go.

02/ 07

It wrapped your whole throat in hot foam.

NAPE next to a bulky inflatable collar.

Soft collars go all the way around your neck.

By 11am, it's warm. By lunch, it's sticky. By 2pm, it's in your bag.

NAPE never wraps your throat. It sits under your chin, and a U-shaped base rests on your chest and collarbones, so the front of your neck stays open to the air.

How NAPE fixes it

120gall in

Open at the throat, so there's nothing to trap heat.

03/ 07

It took so long to put on that you stopped bothering.

Pumps. Velcro. Straps behind your head. Five minutes of fiddling before you've even opened your laptop.

If something takes effort every single time, you skip it. Not because you're lazy. Because you're busy.

NAPE is one strap and one dial. Take it off for a call, put it back on after.

How NAPE fixes it

5 secto put on

Rest it, wrap the strap, turn the dial. That's the whole routine.

04/ 07

It was never quite the right height.

Thumb on the dial: raise it until your chin rests without effort.

Your neck, your chair, your desk and your screen are all different from everyone else's.

A fixed-height support is a guess. Too high and your chin feels pushed. Too low and it does nothing. Either way, it comes off.

NAPE has one thumb dial. Turn it until your chin rests level: laptop in the morning, book at lunch, phone on the couch.

05/ 07

It made you look like you'd been in an accident.

Reading on the sofa, head level.

Beige foam and medical straps. The look that gets you a worried “Oh no, are you okay?”

So we'll be straight with you: NAPE is visible. We won't pretend otherwise.

But it's a clean white shell with soft navy padding, closer to headphones than a hospital. Wear it for deep work, reading and calls on mute. Take it off for the big presentation.

How NAPE fixes it

Honest tools get used. Embarrassing ones get hidden.

06/ 07

It promised to fix you. When it didn't, you blamed yourself.

“Realigns your spine.” “Fixes your posture in 7 days.” When that didn't happen, you figured your neck was just like this now.

It isn't. The promise was the problem.

NAPE promises one thing: it holds your head at a level, comfortable height, so your neck doesn't carry it alone for a while. It doesn't replace moving, so keep your breaks and stretches.

How NAPE fixes it

Support while you work. Chin tucks when you break.

07/ 07

If it didn't suit you, you were stuck with it.

That's how the drawer fills up. Money spent, no way back, one more thing you “should” be using.

So we moved the risk to our side.

Wear NAPE for 30 days: real workdays, real deadlines, real 3pms. If it's not for you, send it back and get your money back.

How NAPE fixes it

If NAPE ends up in a drawer, it should be ours, not yours.

“The best neck support in the world does nothing in a drawer.”
The idea NAPE was built on

The answer

So we built the one you'd actually wear.

NAPE is a light neck support you wear while you work, read or scroll. It does one job: it holds your head up, so your neck can rest.

  1. 1Chin restA padded rest gives your chin somewhere to sit
  2. 2Lift dialOne thumb dial raises or lowers it until your head sits level
  3. 3Chest baseA U-shaped base rests on your chest and collarbones and takes the weight

Physio and massage are real care from real experts. NAPE isn't a replacement for either.

Is NAPE right for you?

Yes, if you…

  • Spend most of your day at a laptop or monitor
  • Feel that familiar ache by mid-afternoon
  • Have tried straps, collars or stretches and nothing stuck
  • Want something simple enough to use every day

Not for you if you…

  • Have a neck injury, recent surgery or a diagnosed spinal condition (talk to your doctor first)
  • Need a prescribed medical collar
  • Want something to wear while presenting on camera

The next 20 workdays

Tomorrow at 3pm is coming either way.

Your neck will hold your head up through every one of those afternoons. The only choice is whether it does that alone.

Real reviews

What people notice in the first week.

Unedited, from people who spend their days at a screen.

Actually feels like my neck gets a break

“I spend probably 10+ hours between my laptop and phone. By the evening my neck used to feel insanely heavy. I use this for a short session after work and it genuinely feels like my neck finally gets a break.”

The hump was honestly what made me buy it

For me it wasn't even pain at first. I kept noticing this bump at the base of my neck in photos and it made me really self conscious. Then eventually I started getting that tight, heavy feeling after long shifts too. I tried stretches from YouTube but I'd do them for three days and forget. With this I just leave it beside the couch so I actually remember. I'm not expecting some miracle overnight but I can already tell I'm holding my head differently throughout the day. I catch myself before I start leaning forward now. That's probably been the biggest thing for me.

I kept rubbing the same spot every night

Every night without fail I'd sit on the sofa and rub that exact spot where my neck meets my shoulders. My husband even used to joke that I needed a massage subscription.
I tried changing my pillow. Changed my desk chair. Raised my monitor. Used a massage gun. All of those helped a little but I still kept putting my head forward without realizing it.
This is the first thing that made me really notice the position itself.
Now when I start creeping toward the screen, I actually catch it.
Still use my massage gun btw 😂 but definitely not reaching for it every single night like before.

Fits into real life

I have a 9 month old so I'm not doing some perfect 30-minute posture routine every morning lol.
Some days I barely remember lunch.
This is doable. I can use it while the baby is playing beside me or when I'm watching TV at night. That's what I needed—something that fits into my actual messy life, not an imaginary version of me who wakes up at 5am and stretches every day.

Bought Mom one after seeing how she sits

My mom is retired and somehow spends more time on her tablet than I spend on my phone.
Every time I visited, she'd be sitting on the couch with her chin practically touching her chest, scrolling Facebook, then complaining that her neck was stiff.
Classic mom logic 😂.
So I got her this.
First week she called me asking if she was using it correctly. Second week she called to tell ME I needed one too.
Apparently I've created a monster.

WFH ruined my posture

Worked from my dining table for “just a few weeks” in 2020. Somehow years later I was still hunched over a laptop every day.
My posture got BAD.
I finally upgraded my chair and monitor but still found myself leaning my whole head toward the screen when concentrating. This has helped a lot with that awareness. I normally use it sometime around lunch and again when I finish work.
The funny thing is now I notice other people doing the same forward-head thing on Zoom 😂

I bought it because I hated my side profile

I'm just gonna be honest because everyone talks about “neck health” but vanity is what got me 😂. I hated how my posture looked from the side. My chin looked forward, shoulders rounded and there was that little hump starting at the back.
I kept trying to consciously stand straight but the second I stopped thinking about it I'd go right back.
What I like about this is I can actually FEEL the position instead of telling myself “shoulders back, chin back” all day long.
Been keeping it near my vanity and using it pretty regularly. Still working on it, obviously, but I already feel less slouched in photos.

I've gone through the whole ergonomic desk rabbit hole.
Standing desk: bought it.
Monitor arm: bought it.
Vertical mouse: bought it.
Foot rest: bought it.
$400 office chair: bought it.
And somehow I was still sitting there with my head six inches forward 😂.
Turns out you can own an amazing desk setup and still have terrible habits. This made me much more conscious of my neck position, which is what I was missing.

My wife looked at me like ???

I handed my wife a neck support for our anniversary.
Yes, I realize how romantic that sounds.
She looked at me like I had lost my mind 😂.
In my defense she works from home and talks about her neck almost every day. She tried it that evening, liked it, and now uses it regularly.
So technically I crushed the anniversary gift.

I'd pay for a massage Sunday and feel AMAZING.
Monday: back at computer.
Tuesday: tight again.
Wednesday: exactly where I started.
That's when I finally accepted that I needed to change the thing I was doing for 8 hours every day instead of only trying to fix it afterward.

I sit. A LOT.

I'm 47 and work in accounting. During busy season I can be at my desk from early morning until dinner.
I've dealt with tightness around my neck and shoulders for years. It gets worse the longer I sit, especially when I'm reading numbers on two monitors.
I was skeptical because a lot of posture products look gimmicky. I decided to try this because it focuses more directly on the neck.
It's easy to adjust and takes very little time. I normally use it in the evening now.
I wouldn't call anything an instant fix, but personally it has become one of the few posture-related products I actually continue using.

Actually useful gift

I'm trying to stop buying my husband things that become clutter.
He doesn't need another wallet.
He doesn't need another bottle.
He definitely doesn't need another novelty gadget.
What he DOES do is work at a computer all day and complain about his neck every evening.
So I bought this.
It's been sitting beside his office chair for weeks now and I see him use it all the time. Honestly I'd rather give somebody something slightly boring that improves their everyday routine than another “cool” gift they forget about after Christmas.
Would absolutely buy it as a gift again.

Game changer for long editing days

Editing days can easily turn into 10-12 hours for me, especially when clients send revisions late. The worst part is I completely stop noticing my posture once I'm focused.
I started leaving this literally beside my keyboard.

Won't it make my neck muscles lazy?

NAPE is for resting your neck during long sessions, not for replacing movement. Keep your breaks and chin tucks, and follow the wear guidance that comes in the box.

Will it fit me?

NAPE is one size that adjusts to you: the strap wraps around the back of your neck and the dial sets the chin-rest height.

Can I talk while wearing it?

Yes. You can talk normally while you wear it.

How long should I wear it each day?

Start with 15 minutes, 2 times a day. As your neck gets used to it, build up to 45 minutes.
Wear it during focused work, reading, or rest.

What if it's not for me?

You're covered by the 30-day guarantee. Send it back and get your money back.

NAPE is a comfort and support product. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. If you have a neck injury, recent surgery, a diagnosed spinal condition, or ongoing pain, talk to a healthcare professional before use.
